Short version: your mail goes from Google to your phone and stays there. Lovely Mail has no server, no account of its own, no ads and no tracking.
When you connect Gmail, Google asks you to allow Lovely Mail to read and change your mail. Lovely uses that permission for three things only:
It never sends mail, never deletes mail for good, and never changes labels, filters or settings. Draft reply opens Gmail, and you send from there.
The mail Lovely loads, the short summaries it writes, and your choices (hidden messages, sender rules, your other addresses) are saved in the app on your iPhone. That file is protected while your phone is locked and is not included in iCloud or computer backups. Your Google sign-in is kept in the iPhone's Keychain. Disconnect Gmail clears the saved mail.
On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, summaries and the check on "Waiting on you" run on Apple's on-device model. Your mail is not sent to Apple, to us, or to anyone else to do it.
Requests to Google, to load your mail and make the changes above. And, if Company logos is on, a request to a company's own website for its icon, using only the web address from the sender's email (never for people or shared services like gmail.com). That website sees the request, like any visit. Turn Company logos off in your profile under Pictures and Lovely makes no such requests.
If you allow Contacts, Lovely matches photos to email addresses on your phone. Nothing from Contacts leaves it.
No ads. No analytics sent anywhere, and no tracking across apps and websites. No selling or sharing data. We have no server holding your mail, so there's nothing for us to read, use for advertising, or use to train AI models.
Lovely Mail's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If you write to [email protected], we get your email address and what you wrote. We use them only to answer you, and we'll delete the thread if you ask.
Tap Disconnect Gmail, or delete the app, to remove everything Lovely saved on your phone. To end its access on Google's side, remove Lovely Mail at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Apart from any email you send us, we keep nothing.
If this changes, the date below changes. Questions: [email protected].
